The best place to begin is Now.

My name is Amelia and I'm an Ideaholic. (HI AMELIA)
What is this you say? Ideaholics suffer from the ability to have infinite ideas. Seriously. Creative and energetic people full of ideas. The problem? No follow through. Literally bombarded with so many ideas at one time, inspiration literally beats on our ability to focus and accomplish anything.
Please do not assume I can't work. I love working! I love having tasks. In fact when I am at work it is all business, snacks and smiles. However when I enter my home and enter the world of infinite possibilities I am dumbfounded how fast I retreat to the one place ideaholics like to visit. The couch.
The couch is a magical place. It doesn't judge you for wearing sweatpants or pretending to enjoy greek yoghurt as if it could possibly replace ice cream. It just holds you and even invites over his best friend nap blanket. Now in this couch where the enabling begin I like to start by dreaming about all of the ideas I would like to do on any given day off. Write, draw, cook, garden, I mean I could literally go on. Each topic has mini topics, etc. Even right now I am thinking about looking up pie recipes, (You make one pie and then think you could make them all syndrome) Pretty soon its time for dinner or worse its too late to start any project at all because it is time to go to sleep. That is where the real Ideaholics go...to Bed.
Today all of us, and by us I mean all of me that is aware that this essay even exists, will stand and say no. Today is the beginning of being Ideaholics that produce.

TODAY IS OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY
Please join me in starting this step program that I am inventing as I type and because I like weird plays on numbers the sequence will be 1, 2, 3.
ONE: The time line is one year. I am already behind because technically I meant to start at the beginning of the year. But as Ideaholics know it took me a while to even get to writing about it. Baby steps my friends.
TWO: Make two goals and declare them! Here goes: One is to complete the draft of my book that I have been tossing around in my head for three years. I will finish this draft by New Years. The second goal is to document my food infused travel adventures. I have been to 11 countries in the last ten years. I have yet to print one picture. I have some serious stories to tell, mostly about food and getting lost.
THREE: Limit/allow yourself three times to excuse yourself from your surroundings. In other words – LEAVE YOUR COUCH! In my case being a travel addict, I am going to have to circle Limit. I will ONLY go on three trips this year. I have already planned an adventure next month to Iceland, Rome and the Cannary Islands. I will also make a pit stop in London to visit some friends and get into some trouble. This all counts as one trip by the way because it is continuous and I am a travel addict.
So there are the parameters. Only me, myself and the random reader that wants the challenge of producing more than excuses this year.
What is your sequence?
